Don Reinhart

Obituary of Don Reinhart

Please share a memory of Don to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Donald "Don" David Reinhart passed away at Pioneer House, Lloydminster, Alberta, May 1, 2021 at the age of 86 years.

Don was born January 25, 1935 in Saskatoon to Emma Evelline Reinhart, the oldest of seven. He was raised in the Spruce Lake area and attended Emmaville School. He left home at a young age and went out in the work force. This took him to many places, and he met Ida Belle Rose Gelsinger.  They married in Regina, settled in Calgary and had a family of four. He owned his company there called “Reinhart Towing”. In 1970 another opportunity came his way and moved his family to Lloydminster, where he remained the rest of his life. In Lloyd he did mostly truck driving. In 1974 Don and Ida parted their separate ways. In 1991 he married Simone St. Jacques. In 1994 he started a hot shot business known as Chem-Tech Transportation Services. His long-time hobby was rebuilding antique tractors. Don and Simone spent many weekends going around the country and participating in slow races and tractor pulls. In April 2013 Simone passed away. Life was different by himself; to fill the empty void, he enjoyed going out with his many friends and meeting people for coffee.

The beginning of 2019 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. In January 2021, his health took a turn for the worse. His daughter Michelle came to Lloyd and stayed with him, which he enjoyed immensely, until his passing on May 1, 2021 at the age of 86.

Left to cherish his memory are: his daughters, Monica, Michelle and Shawna and their families; son, Blair and his family; siblings, Bertha, Debbie, Denniece and LéRaine; and numerous friends.

Don was predeceased by: sister, Irene Kitteringham; brother, Lawrence Sandelback; uncle, Jim Reinhart.

At Don’s request, no funeral will be held.

Donations in memory of Don may be made to Pioneer House or donor’s charity of choice.
