Dear Grandma Winter,
I was very sorry to hear of Grandpa Winter's passing. As many others have indicated in these tributes, there are so many tremendous memories of visiting you both (& your dog Cheemo...haha) when I was a young girl. You were both so loving and kind to our family that I always felt as though I was a surrogate grand-daughter! I have many special memories of times with you and I will never forget Grandpa Winter's display of hats hung up. I have a friend who collects hats and I told him about the way that Grandpa Winter had his hats displayed and my friend decided to do the same with his. Every time I go to visit my friend, I think of Grandpa Winter!
with love & sympathy,
Thina
(Larry & Starene Stewart's eldest daughter)

It's so hard to know where to start. Ed and Nora welcomed me into their home and family, an event that filled so many many holes in my life. For years, any spare moment I had I wanted to be with them and their family. That has never changed over the years even though events took me elsewhere. My wife, Wilma, and at least our older children, have many fond memories of being with Ed and Nora. Probably my funniest memory is when I had stayed over night and came upstairs for breakfast. I arrived after most had eaten, took a very clean looking cereal bowl from the table, and helped myself to some cereal. Ed came back to the table, looked at me with a very serious face, and said, "Did you know the dog licked that out?". I laughed and finished my cereal. It was a bit late at that point. Funny and serious. A dedicated man of god. A life well-lived that we can all aspire to. Wilma and I are in Victoria and wish we could be with you. Mrs. Winter, Mr. Winter was a special person to many of us and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sandy, Darryl, Don, Shiela, Blain, Bev, and Norris, you are an amazing group of people and I wish you and your families well in this time of sorrow and adjustment.

Dear Shiela, Nora and families,
So sorry to hear of your family's loss. So good to know that he is no longer suffering but in the arms of his savior waiting for other loved ones to join him.
I have fond memories of hay rides and other youth events at the family farm. Good times.
Prayers and hugs to all

Dear Norah and family - our hearts join with yours as you grieve the loss of this very special person in your lives. So many of our Lloydminster memories include the Winter family. The annual New Years Eve hayride with the youth and friends from First Baptist, at the Winter farm, would be a highlight! Ed drove the tractor and Norah generously fed multitudes of grateful kids for the many years of this tradition. Thank you for building into all our lives. So grateful that Ed is safely in his Father's arms. He will be missed. Merv and Joan Loewen , Abbotsford BC

So sorry to hear of your loss. Such a great man in every way. He would always remind me of the time he had to babysit me. I do not remember the exact circumstances, but do remember him being at our place on the farm. Hugs and prayers to you all.
