So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He was a wonderful person—always great to visit with. Don was our bus driver and always greeted us with a smile even on those mornings that we might have been a little behind and took sometime to get to the bus,Don was a great community member and would be at event at rink or church. Loved having a visit at the store when mom would get groceries. Nola and Jill it is so hard to lose someone you love but there will be many great memories to help you heal. Will not be able to come to the funeral but will be thinking of you on Monday. Sending virtual hugs and support. Shannon

What a guy!! Of course you guys are terribly saddened at this time as are ALL those that knew Don. But the memories and.stories will be never ending. His quick mind, devious sense of humour , absolute faith in God and his unquestioned friendship are only the edge of what Don meant to us.We will be in BC and so will be unable to attend the celebration but please remember that the Anslow family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Nola, Jill & families! And hi to Muriel, Teddy, Tommy, Dawn & families.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences for Don's passing. The last time I saw Don was at Creelman (of course, at a funeral). We managed to find His and Shirley's place once in Lloydminster after a spring snowstorm. They had a nice place there.
Don gave me my first job. Didn't really seem like a job though, more like a chance to see and visit with people whenever they came into the store for groceries. I remember when Grant's Transport would bring us quarters of fresh beef, and I would help Don cut and wrap it That doesn't happen anymore because of the weight limit that you're allowed to lift. Fellingers in Moose Jaw told us that. Pete (Cab-over Pete I called him) Raczinski hauled all of Don's freight. Man, could that guy carry stuff. I couldn't even keep up to him! It was fun to work with Shirley and Nola and Jill. The girls did a lot of work there, after school and on weekends.
Don also encouraged me to get my school bus drivers licence. I would drive for him if he was away on a painting job, or if he was busy helping a customer with insurance. It was easy to get a bus licence in 1976. Now, not so much (I flunked on my last driver's test and had to pay to take it again!).
We curled together a few times. One particular time in the old Heward rink, Mervin Soper called for a take-out. Well, the ice in Heward tended to be a bit uneven at times. Mervin hollered, "Can ya' see this one?" Don hollered back from the hack, "I can see the handle!" God, everybody on both sheets laughed! Fun times! I see Mervin and Wilda in Moose Jaw once in a while.
I am sorry that we won't be able to attend Don's funeral. I will turn 66 that day and it seems that wiith age comes more medical appointments! I guess that's life, eh? I hope to be able to see all of you someday. In the meantime, please try to stay healthy and warm.
Yours Truly,
Kim & Wanda
