With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to Douglas, whose kindness and thoughtfulness knew no bounds. His infectious friendliness brightened the lives of many throughout the years, especially in the biking community. It is now etched into our memories how proud he was to share his passion with others. As true friends that ride together never truly part ways, may you find comfort knowing that Doug's spirit will continue to ride with us all forevermore. Too young indeed; deeply missed by all who knew him.

I'm deeply saddened to learn of Doug's passing~my sincere condolences to his wife/family, sons/spouses and grand-kiddos. Doug was nicely entering the stage we worked years to achieve~retirement.
I met Doug, his wife Cheryl, Kerry + Karen Golden, Mel W, Slug C, Chuck B, Neil P, Karl M, Lyle B, Wanda G and numerous others when I arrived as a lone bandit in Lloydminster 1985. My mission~after a few years in Ft McMurray to move closer to family in Saskatchewan. My bright red HD Sportster was an ice breaker and I was soon welcomed into a fine group of Lloydminster folks.
As the years passed, we focussed on careers, growing families, buying homes~some moved on, some remained. Doug and I shared interest in the oil patch, he moved around with his mobile welding unit and I remained with Husky Energy for 25 years. Time would pass then sure as heck, we'd bump into each other~Tim's our common spot. We'd condense events, have a few laughs and go our way~always cheerfully wishing each other the best til next time.
I'm so sorry Doug, ur time was cut short. It goes to show we need to cherish every moment because we truly don't know when it will be our turn to hop on the train. No time to pack a bag, sometimes no good-byes, just memories of special times with family and friends. Til we see u again RIP Bro.

I was shocked to hear of Doug's passing. It has been years since Doug, and I spoke face to face, but we did share some posts on FB . I first met Doug when he worked for Mikes oilfield service (I think that was it) and he used to stop in at my brother's part store Lloyd I park. We shared many laughs and stories. He was a diehard Triumph rider back then and one of his favorite sayings were 'Anyone can where a Harley Tee Shirt but not many can say they have a Triumph tee shirt " I too am a welder and was a journeyman when I first met Doug. I shall always remember Doug as a kindhearted quiet guy that had a giggle that came from his chest. And I am happy that he finally jumped off that Triumph and chose his brand and model of Harley Davidson that fit him and his personality. He loved the old nostalgic look and his bike certainly shows the Doug we all knew and loved. I consider myself lucky to have known such a great fella and shared many laughs on our paths. I am also happy that he found the road to our lord and saviour Jesus Christ and that we can all rest better knowing that he is with the Lord even tho he was called too early I know he is at peace and free of pain and suffering. Till we meet again Doug ride on into the sunset my friend.

I spent several years attending meetings and family events with Doug and his ex-wife Cheryl. Doug was a supportive and loving father to the three boys Brody, Justin and Ryley.
My heart goes out to the boys and his wife Amy and stepdaughter Allie.
Gone in body forever with you in spirit

Doug, you were one amazing man. You’ll be missed. I remember one of our rides, you broke down, you did not stop until you had that thing figured out and back on the road for more wind therapy. You were a great man. Gone, never forgotten.

Doug you will be missed dearly. A great man with great wisdom. Many an evening spent in the shop fixing bikes just so the next day can be had for riding. My friend thank you for all your wise words and kind generous gestures!
Ride reckless and take chances; ride free, ride safe in your journey and I’ll see you on the other side one day then we can sit and have a coffee and talk about our journey once again. Much Love laughter and respect. Be safe my friend.
