Obituary of Douglas Hjalmar Staff

Douglas Hjalmar Staff passed away peacefully with family by his side at University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the age of 64 years.

Doug is survived by:  the love of his life wife, Amy; son, Brody (Megan) and Dæmien and son, Justin (Kelsey) and son, Ryley; step daughter, Allie (Ean) King; Doug was special Papa to Ava and Kayden of PEI; mother, Terry; brothers, Eric, Rod (Carol), Gary; sister, Valerie; parents-in-law, Bob (Bonnie) White of PEI; brother from another mother, Paul Isaac; and numerous family and friends.

Douglas is predeceased by: his father, Adolph; infant son, Gared; and furbaby, Lucy.

Doug was adventurous and filled his life with fun including many trips to PEI. He loved his HARLEY and enjoyed the open road. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be on the water with his side kick, Lucy, and his wife, sons and friends. He was a welder by trade. Doug was also a committed member of AA and had 33 years of sobriety. He had a huge heart for service in the AA community and enjoyed mentoring those in need. Doug  attended First Baptist Church in Lloydminster where his faith in the Lord grew. He also enjoyed the turning point seasons he and Amy attended together at FBC.

We as a family would like to thank the "Our amazing treatment team" for Doug in Saskatoon. A special thank you to Nicole for all her words of wisdom, Doug appreciated them more than you know. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at Lloydminster Hospital for there wonderful care. Thanks to the ICU unit at University of Alberta Hospital, who were gracious, kind and compassionate during Doug‘s last days.

The Funeral Service for Doug will be conducted from First Baptist Church, Lloydminster, SK, on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2:00PM with Doug Baynton officiating. In memory of Doug, please wear some Harley Davidson apparel as it was his favorite.  There will also be a bike procession to the cemetery. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join for one last ride with Doug.

If you are unable to attend in person, you may view the live streaming of the service  posted on McCaw Funeral Service website under Doug's obituary at the time of service.

Donations in memory of Doug may be made to Border Paws Animal Shelter Society, First Baptist Church memo Outreach or Pleasantview Bible Camp.
